Happy Birthday Tupac!

Today, Tupac Shakur would have turned 50 and, he is still regarded as one of the most influential artist’s of our time.

2Pac is widely considered to be one of the most influential rappers of all time, as he's been noted for addressing social issues that plagued inner cities, and considered a symbol of activism against inequality.

His debut album 2Pacalypse Now dropped in 1991, making him a central figure in West Coast hip hop. Pac achieved further critical and commercial success with Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z in 1993 and Me Against the World in 1995.

In 1995, he signed with "Suge" Knight's Death Row Records and became heavily involved in the East Coast–West Coast hip hop rivalry. His double-disc album All Eyez on Me was certified Diamond as it fueled the rivalry to tragic heights.

On September 7, 1996, Shakur was shot four times by an unknown assailant in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas, Nevada; he died six days later and the gunman was never captured. In turn, The Notorious B.I.G., was also murdered in another drive-by shooting six months later in Los Angeles.

Five more albums have been released since Shakur's death, all of which have been certified platinum, making him one of the best-selling music artists of all time, selling over 75 million records worldwide.

In 2002, he was inducted into the Hip-Hop Hall of Fame and In 2017 was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Eyez still on you Pac.
