G Herbo Reflects On His Father’s Death, Speaks On His New Album & More

G Herbo is opening up about how he responded when he lost his father last year ahead of his new album.

On Thursday, November 6, the Chicago native returned to The Breakfast Club to talk about his upcoming project Lil Herb. During their conversation, Charlamagne Tha God asked Herbo about how he reacts to death after he appeared on the show last year, shortly after learning that his dad had passed away.

"That's the thing, I'm so used to death and used to s**t that I didn't even process it forreal," the "Went Legit" rapper explained. "I came here because I was in my head trying to forget that my dad is dead."

G Herbo learned about his father's death while he was on his way to an interview with The Breakfast Club last year. At the time, he opened up about his father's passing during a livestream with Kai Cenat.

"I still find a reason to get up and smile, to get up and work, to provide for my family, to be there for my children... my son is crying because I'm talking about his grandfather, but it's ok man. Family first."

Elsewhere in the interview, G Herbo also discussed losing his brother. He vents about his brother's death in songs like "Give It All" on his new album Lil Herb. The project comes with 15 tracks featuring new collaborations alongside Jeremih, Southside, Wyclef Jean, Turbo The Great and Anderson. Paak. The album drops on Friday, November 7.
