Chance The Rapper is set to embark on his first tour in six years.
On Monday, August 11, the Chicago rapper sat down with CBS Mornings to talk about the meaning of his upcoming album Star Line, address changes in his personal life, and announce the dates for his tour. Chance's "And We Back Tour" will kick off in Houston on September 26. The tour will continue to other major cities around the U.S. and Canada, like New Orleans, Atlanta, New York City, Chicago, Toronto, and numerous locations in California. Chance will close out the tour in Los Angeles on October 20.
"I'm very happy to announce that I'm going back on tour," Chance said. "I will be in front of you, face to face, very soon. I'm really excited too."
The tour comes in support of Chance The Rapper's forthcoming album Star Line, which drops this Friday. Chance said he's been working on the album for the past few years. After sharing a few songs from the album, Chance dropped his latest single, "Tree" featuring Lil Wayne and Smino. He also announced the release date earlier this month.
"It covers a lot of different areas of my life," Chance said about the album. "I've covered a lot of ground in the last six years. I've spent a considerable amount of time in Ghana, West Africa, in Jamaica, and a lot of different communities around the states. Collaborated with a lot of different artists and a bunch of changes in my personal life too, and all of that is reflected through the music. It's always a good thing to release and share with the world."
Citi and Verizon ticket presales begin Tuesday, August 12, with general sales starting Friday, August 15. Fans can find all the information on ticket sales and merch here. See the full list of dates and watch Chance's interview with CBS Mornings below.
