Supporters of Young Buck held a protest against the former G-Unit rapper's incarceration.

According to a report WKRN published on Wednesday, April 23, numerous protesters met outside the Sumner County Courthouse in Gallatin, Tenn. to voice their frustration over Young Buck's imprisonment. The Straight Outta Cashville rapper, born David Brown, is currently serving a 30-day sentence in the Sumner County Jail after a judge ruled to revoke his bail due to “repeated violations of his bond supervision." Fans of the rapper claim he's a victim of “political and police corruption.”

“I hope they start weeding out these corrupt police, judges, DA’s — all of it,” protester Kimberly Cassetty told the outlet.

Young Buck was originally arrested in 2020 after he was allegedly involved in a domestic dispute with his former girlfriend, Lucresia Neal. At the time, the 44-year-old artist was accused of trying to pin Neal to the ground and damaging her property. He was charged with domestic assault, possession of a firearm as a felon and vandalism over $10,000. Neal, who allegedly fired a gun at Buck during the altercation, was also arrested and charged with reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon. Buck was released on bail but was arrested in 2022 for vandalizing Neal's car.

Earlier this month, Young Buck was arrested for contempt of court and sentenced to a month behind bars after he reportedly missed several bond meetings. He must serve his sentence before a judge can issue him a new bond. Young Buck will also face the charges during his trial on July 24. The seasoned rapper maintained his innocence in the case. Meanwhile, Sumner County Sheriff Eric Craddock issued a statement in response to the protest against his incarceration.

"As Americans, we are guaranteed the right to free speech and peaceful assembly under the First Amendment of the United States Constitution," Sheriff Craddock said. "These rights are foundational to our republic, and it is our duty not only to uphold them, but to protect those who exercise them peacefully. We thank the demonstrators for their cooperation and for expressing their views in a lawful and respectful manner. Our office remains committed to ensuring public safety while safeguarding the constitutional rights of every citizen."

Before he was sent to jail, Young Buck released an EP called The Renovation. Listen to it on iHeartRadio now!
