NM State Park Fees May Be Going Up

The NM State Parks Department is gathering feedback on a new fee structure. State Park’s current fees, which are set by rule, have not been updated in decades and have not kept pace with inflation. In some cases, the fees have not gone up in more than two decades. Adjustments are necessary to better support park operations and to allow for upgrades.

Summary of costs changes:

  • Primitive camping will go from $8 to $20 per day.
  • Developed camping will go from $10 to $20 per day.
  • Utilities will go from $4 to $10 per day.
  • Dump station fee will go from free to $10 per day.
  • Vessel registration fees will nearly triple.

The final public meeting is Tuesday, March 12, 2024

6:00 PM – 7:30 PM

Rio Grande Nature Center State Park Education Building

2901 Candelaria Rd., NW

Albuquerque, NM 87107
