On Tuesday (July 27), a federal jury convicted ex-political donor Ed Buck on drug charges that led to the fatal overdoses of two people.

Buck, 66, was found guilty of all nine felony charges in connection with the deaths of 26-year-old Gemmel Moore and Timothy Dean, who investigators say Buck injected with methamphetamine in exchange for sexual acts. Buck faced additional charges for knowingly distributing methamphetamine, using his apartment to distribute drugs, and enticing another man to engage in prostitution. He had pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Buck's conviction came on the four year anniversary of Moore’s body being discovered at Buck’s West Hollywood apartment following an overdose.

“Today is bittersweet,” LaTisha Nixon, Moore’s mother, told reporters after the verdict came down, per CBS News. “We got victory today.”

Buck’s trial began in federal court two weeks ago and the verdict came after the jury deliberated for more than four hours. A date for Buck’s sentencing has not been scheduled. He could face a life sentence following the conviction.

Buck’s attorney in the trial was Christopher Darden, known for being a part of the prosecutorial team in the murder trial of O.J. Simpson.
